PITTSBURGH An unidentified city police sergeant is facing possible discipline
for having his picture taken in uniform while wearing a unicorn mask
and standing next to a porn star who had just been thrown
out of a Pittsburgh Pirates game for dancing in the costume head. But
the woman who took the picture, an adult film producer named Steviee
Hughes, said she's not sure what the fuss is all about, though
she's assuming it has more to do with adult entertainer Andy San
Dimas posing next to the officer than it does the oversized animal
head he wore on July 13.Calling it a "mountain made out of
mole hill," Hughes said, "I'm sure if she wouldn't have been a
porn star, it would have been OK."City public safety officials said Dimas
was in town last Saturday to dance at a local night club
but went to the Pirates game first and was ejected by security
for refusing to sit down after she was seen dancing while wearing
the large unicorn head. When Dimas was taken to a security office at
PNC Park, the sergeant and others were standing around and Hughes said
he agreed to wear the unicorn head and pose for a picture,
which Hughes then posted on Twitter. That's when the tweet hit the fan.Gossipy
news blogs Deadspin and TMZ posted the photo as well as cellphone
video Hughes shot of Dimas dancing in the unicorn head just before
she was ejected. Rumors spread that the dancer was high on drugs
or part of a sexual cult fixated on unicorns.Hughes said the tr
NEW YORK Two New York City political wives, forever linked by
their husbands' humiliating scandals, are taking very different roles in
their spouses' improbable political comebacks.Silda Wall Spitzer, who famously
stood by husband Eliot Spitzer in 2008 when he stepped down as
governor in a prostitution scandal, hasn't been seen in the early days
of his campaign for city comptroller, though Spitzer insists she's supportive.Huma
Abedin, who was notably absent when husband Anthony Weiner resigned his
congressional seat in 2011 after he acknowledged sending lewd Twitter photos
to women, has been a key player in his surging mayoral run.
She's appeared in his campaign launch video, raised tens of thousands of
dollars and joined him on the campaign trail. The two women, who have
no known relationship, will have little choice but to occupy the spotlight
again before Election Day -- and they may affect their husbands' chances
to regain office."When the significant other forgives you, it makes your
road back in politics that much easier," said Wendy Schiller, a political
science professor at Brown University. "If the wife goes on the campaign
trail or seems really supportive, it makes a huge difference. If she
doesn't, it may raise doubts with women."To many, Wall Spitzer's anguished
appearance at her husband's side when he admitted paying for sex with
prostitutes, is the archetype of the sad genre of wronged political wives,
so much so that it h

up to 82 feet. With one iPhone, you can measure distances just
under 4 feet.Smartphones and tablets are on their way to becoming indispensible
medical gadgets. They've already been wired with sensors to detect certain
blood chemicals. MIT created an add-on, NETRA, which turns any smartphone
into a portable eye tester. The list goes on.Most of these advances
are years away from being commercial or require add-ons. However, some people
are doing interesting things with the smartphones they already have.Instant

out your heart rate. It detects the light passing through your finger

valuable items that people drop every day. A simple metal detector is
all you need to find them and make some extra money.Don't have

Democrats who accused Republicans of being anti-women during last years
campaign are strangely silent now that one of their own -- San
Diego Mayor Bob Filner -- is accused of groping and sexually assaulting
women."Don't identify him as my former colleague," an agitated House Democratic
Leader Nancy Pelosi reportedly said Thursday night when asked about the
claims against Filner.Pelosi worked alongside Filner for 10 years in Congress.
The two were founding members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and
Filner was a loyal foot soldier for the House leader, having spent
20 years in Congress. On Friday, however, Pelosi said, "What goes on
in San Diego is up to the people of San Diego. I'm
not here to make any judgments."Compare that to the scandal involving Florida
Rep. Mark Foley. Republican Foley was accused of sending sexually explicit
emails to a congressional page. On the very same day the story
broke, Pelosi took to the House floor to demand an investigation.Or consider
the case against Oregon Sen. Bob Packwood, accused of unwanted sexual advances
in November 1992. Two days later, the Oregon Democratic Party called for
his resignation, followed by a call from California Democratic Sen. Dianne
Feinstein. Twelve days after the story broke and before any investigation,
Feinstein said Packwood should resign if the allegations were true. A month
later, California's other senator, Barbara Boxer, said Packwood should resign
