This publicity image released by Showtime shows Michael Sheen as Dr. William
Masters, left, and Lizzy Caplan as Virginia Johnson from "Masters of Sex."APThere's
so much sex depicted on a new cable TV series about researchers
Masters and Johnson that filming it became ho-hum for star Michael Sheen."I
never thought I would get used to having a naked woman in
front of me masturbating ... but I actually broke that barrier on
the show," Sheen, who plays researcher William Masters, said Tuesday. He
plays opposite Lizzy Caplan as co-researcher and future wife Virginia Johnson
in Showtime's "Masters of Sex," an explicit depiction of the pair and
their groundbreaking mid-20th century scientific investigation of human
sexuality. The series, based on Thomas Maier's 2009 nonfiction book, debuts
Sept. 29 on Showtime. Johnson died last week at age 88 in
St. Louis. She was divorced from Masters, who died in 2001.Sheen, whose
film credits include "The Queen," said the story remains pertinent because
the same "problems of intimacy" and making connections with people apply
today.During a Q&A session with the Television Critics Association, the
difficulty of talking about sex publicly became apparent. One reporter asked
the cast and producers how the series can include humor without appearing
to titter at sexuality."We just had a slightly inappropriate look into your
sex life. We all thank you for that," Sheen replied, drolly.Caplan (TV's

President Obama waves as he arrives on Capitol Hill in Washington, Wednesday,
July 31, 2013, to meet with the House Democratic Caucus.APPresident Obama
sought Wednesday to reassure Democrats nervous about the impact of his health
care law and the prospects for immigration legislation, telling them "You're
on the right side of history."In the first of two closed-door meetings
on Capitol Hill, Obama focused on financial gains as the economy emerges
from the worst downturn since the Depression. He was warned about nominating
former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers as chairman of the Federal Reserve
and faced questions about his health care law. Some lawmakers complained
that three years after its passage, the law still baffles many Americans.Rep.
Ed Perlmutter, D-Colo., told the president that tapping Summers to replace
current Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke would be a mistake.Obama defended
Summers, saying he had been treated unfairly by the news media. The
president insisted that he had not made a decision on his choice.
Summers, a former Obama economic adviser, and Janet Yellen, the Fed's current
vice chair, are among the leading candidates for the job.The first major
rewrite of immigration laws in a generation and legislation to keep the
government running without interruption are paramount issues for Democrats.
So is the president's contentious health care law, with uninsured people

in women's golf has crossed the $1 million mark."I think she can
do it," Pak said Wednesday, a Hall-of-Famer revered for cutting a path
for so many South Koreans. "She's dominating. Her game is strong. Her
confidence is strong. All the attention is on her. Everyone thinks she
can do it."Woods and Mickey Wright are the only players who have
held four professional majors at the same time, both done over two
seasons. Woods won the U.S. Open, British Open, PGA Championship and Masters
in succession in 2000-01. Wright, who Ben Hogan once said had the
best swing he ever saw, won the U.S. Women's Open, LPGA Championship,
Titleholders and Western Open over the 1961-62 seasons.Wright has been watching
Park on television this year and is struck by her calm."She certainly
is an unflappable young lady," the 78-year-old Wright told The Associated
Press in a rare telephone interview from her home in Florida. "She's
probably the best putter I've ever seen. And I've seen some good
ones. I'm hoping she can pull it off, and then win the
fifth one in France. No one will ever come close to that
unless the LPGA adds a sixth major."The debate this week at St.
Andrews is not whether Park is capable of a fourth straight major,
but whether that will constitute a calendar Grand Slam. The LPGA Tour, not
nearly as established or well-funded as men's golf, designated the Evian
Championship in France as a fifth major this ye
July 24, 2013: President Barack Obama speaks about the economy, at the
University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo.APWASHINGTON The Senate
voted Tuesday to fill all five seats on the National Labor Relations
Board and prepared to consider President Obama's picks for top diplomatic
and law enforcement posts as the chamber whittled down a pile of
stalled nominations.Tuesday's votes included the last of the seven nominees
that were part of a bipartisan deal earlier this month in which
some Republicans agreed to end stalling tactics. Democratic leaders hope
to also push other nominations through the Senate before Congress begins
its summer recess this weekend, but some face uncertain fates.Even so, that
bipartisan agreement -- which saw Democrats drop a threat to change Senate
rules to weaken minority party clout -- has let Obama fill some
major gaps in his second-term administration. That deal and the momentum
it has created has let him install leaders at agencies including the
FBI, the Labor Department, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Consumer
Financial Protection Bureau. On Tuesday, the chamber moved rapidly for the
normally glacial Senate and approved three Democrats and two Republicans
to serve on the NLRB, which helps resolve labor disputes.Without confirmation
of at least one of them before Congress' recess, much of the
NLRB's work would have ground to a halt by late August. That
is when NLRB Chairman Mark Gaston Pe
