astonishingly well-preserved blood from a 10,000-year-old frozen mammoth
could lead to mammoth stem cells, said Ian Wilmut, the scientist responsible
for Dolly, the worlds first cloned animal -- and might ultimately lead
to a cloned mammoth. There are several hurdles to such a venture, of
course, and it may ultimately prove unsuccessful. But Wilmuts weight lends
credibility to the growing possibility of bringing back the mammoth -- the
de-extinction of a long-lost species.- Ian Wilmut, emeritus professor at
the MRC Center for Regenerative Medicine at University of Edinburgh"I think
it should be done as long as we can provide great care
for the animal, Wilmut told The Guardian. If there are reasonable prospects
of them being healthy, we should do it. We can learn a
lot about them," he said.PHOTOS: Ten Most Wanted "Extinct" AmphibiansIn
an essay on The Conversation, Wilmut spelled out the two main methods
for turning an ancient pile of mammoth bones and blood into a
living, breathing creature. The tw
4 had been cleared to make a visual
approach when the plane crash-landed July 6. Three Chinese teenagers died,
and 180 people were injured among the 307 aboard. The plane from China
and South Korea came in too low and too slow, slamming its
landing gear into a seawall well before the actual runway.Seconds before
the accident, the pilots called for a go-around, meaning they wanted to
abort the landing and circle for another approach. The FAA said such
maneuvers are "routine, standardized procedures that can occur once a day
or more at busy airports for various reasons."Two weeks after the crash,
another Asiana flight aborted its landing, San Francisco airport officials
said. In addition, they said a Taiwanese EVA Air flight approached too
low last week, then aborted and began another approach. The FAA said it
hasn't seen any significant delays as a result of the move away
from side-by-side approaches.

<p style="font-size:xx-small;"> This publicity image released by Showtime shows Michael Sheen as Dr. William
Masters, left, and Lizzy Caplan as Virginia Johnson from "Masters of Sex."APThere's
so much sex depicted on a new cable TV series about researchers
Masters and Johnson that filming it became ho-hum for star Michael Sheen."I
never thought I would get used to having a naked woman in
front of me masturbating ... but I actually broke that barrier on
the show," Sheen, who plays researcher William Masters, said Tuesday. He
plays opposite Lizzy Caplan as co-researcher and future wife Virginia Johnson
in Showtime's "Masters of Sex," an explicit depiction of the pair and
their groundbreaking mid-20th century scientific investigation of human
sexuality. The series, based on Thomas Maier's 2009 nonfiction book, debuts
Sept. 29 on Showtime. Johnson died last week at age 88 in
St. Louis. She was divorced from Masters, who died in 2001.Sheen, whose
film credits include "The Queen," said the story remains pertinent because
the same "problems of intimacy" and making connections with people apply
today.During a Q&A session with the Television Critics Association, the
difficulty of talking about sex publicly became apparent. One reporter asked
the cast and producers how the series can include humor without appearing
to titter at sexuality."We just had a slightly inappropriate look into your
sex life. We all thank you for that," Sheen replied, drolly.Caplan (TV's

could be asked questions regarding the Giudices' business operations that
Bravo followed at the time of the filing. The reality television personalities
have been charged in a 39-count indictment with conspiracy to commit mail
and wire fraud, bank fraud, making false statements on loan applications
and bankruptcy fraud. They were released on Tuesday on $500,000 bond each.
They are set to make a plea on August 14.According to another
legal expert, who wished to remain anonymous due to associations with the
network, its a big problem that Bravo filmed the Giudices talking to
their bankruptcy attorney last year. There is a chance that there is raw
footage, which didnt make the air that could be incriminating. Federal investigators
will likely want all of what was shot to see what Bravo
and others involved in the production knew, and how much did they
know. The question of co-conspiracy, even unintentionally, could be raised,
the source said. And filing for Chapter 7 is no light issue.
Its odd that they were able to continue living in that opulent
mansion and living such a lavish lifestyle when they were in that
kind of financial ruin. Who was paying for it? Were their show
payments going directly to them or their trustee? Their bail was set
particularly high which is unusual, and suggests that there is much more
to come.Teresa opened up about her financial woes in one of her
