PeaZip 1.6 released ("giorgio.tani")
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
From: "giorgio.tani" <giorgiotani@interfree.it>
Subject: PeaZip 1.6 released
Date: Wed, 11 Apr 2007 13:30:47 -0500
Today I released PeaZip 1.6; this update introduces many usability and
functionality updates suggested by users, as well updates in the look
and feel of the application.
Job's graphic wrapper now features progress bar and stop button.
Password related fields are now better placed and password text can be
hidden (requiring password confirmation) or shown; missing password is
automatically asked when extracting an encrypted archive.
Quick functions were created to add each input object to a separate
zip or 7z archive from context menu.
Changes:
* New features:
new graphic and icons, better layout for some GUI elements like
password fields;
last used compression settings are now automatically saved;
password is asked, if missing, when extracting, listing or testing an
encrypted archive;
created quick functions to add each input object to a separate zip or
7z archive;
job's graphic wrapper now:
- displays (approximate) progress bar;
- allow stopping jobs;
- allow auto closing the form after the job completes;
- features a button to open output path (Windows only);
frontend for QUAD 1.11;
enabled read support for PET/PUP (Puppy Linux installers), PK3 and PK4
files;
* New options:
auto close job's graphic wrapper when job ends, default off; may be
overridden from the graphic wrapper for each job;
disable information-level messages, default on;
show password field's text (to avoid entering password confirmation),
default off;
* Fixes:
"tar before":
- the option automatically updates when adding objects to archive;
- some rare freeze condition fixed (as for what is known those
conditions occourred, very rarely, only on Win32 version).
