Subject: PeaZip 1.4 released
Date: Tue, 6 Mar 2007 07:46:52 -0600

Monday 2007 03 05 I released PeaZip 1.4:
This update introduces many improvements in GUI look and feel.
Various usability and functionality improvements are introduced as
well, thanking also many good and valuable suggestions given by users
of previous versions of the program.
Notably:
- it's now posible to archive data in TAR archive before sending it to
any other archive or compressor type (handy for enhancing the
usability of compression-only formats like gz and bz2);
- added strip and UPX frontend, to reduce executable size (this
feature is mainly developers-oriented);
- it's introduced full support to QUAD compression format (
http://sourceforge.net/projects/quad/ ).

All Linux packages (one precompiled statically using GTK2 and the
other using GTK1) now contains .desktop files and instructions to
integrate the application in FreeDesktop compliant environments, like
Gnome and KDE.
