Subject: Sflack Linux Project

Sflack Linux is a pure 64-bit system.

The SFLACK Linux distribution is now available for anonymous FTP.
This is a complete installation system designed for 64-bit systems.
It has been tested extensively with a x86_64/IDE system. The standard
kernel included support SCSI, but if there's a great demand, I might be
persuaded to compile a few custom kernels to put up for FTP.

Sflack is a based on slackware(R).

Some of the features:

Series ap:
   lmv2
Series d:
   gcc-4.1.1
Series l:
   glibc-2.4
Series k:
   kernel 2.6.18.2
Series n:
   apache-2.2.3
   php-5.1.6
Series x:
   x11-X11R7.1
Series xap:
   firefox-2.0
   thunderbird-2a1

How to get the Sflack(R) release:

The Sflack release may be obtained be anonymous FTP from
ftp.slackarea.net in directory /pub/sflack.

Other sites are, of course, welcome to help out with the load by
mirroring
the distribution.

If you find any problems with the distribution, or if you have any
suggestions for improvements, please let me know.
If you know of more up-to-date versions of software in the
distribution, I'd like to hear about that, too.

I posted a while back notice about an IPTables tutorial series which goes from nothing to EVERYTHING.
I had a conversation with old guy back then and as per request I would like to announce the fact that PDF versions of each part and also plain text archives (for easy searching) are available for download and since I plan on writing more of there (I think noone really explains all aspects of IPTables), all further parts will be available as PDF/TXT immediately.

If you want to check the newest part (IPTABLES Part 4: IPTAbles and Portsentry, the dynamic duo) and the others online, I made an index so I don't have to post all the URLS:

http://blog.2blocksaway.com/2007/01/03/iptables-explained-get-started-with-iptables-and-tame-the-monster-of-all-firewalls/

and if you want to go straight to the PDF/TXT's (this is also where the scripts for PART 4 are located at):
http://blog.2blocksaway.com/downloads/

I know the texts are far from perfect, however I have to mention that Englis
h is not my first language, it isn't even my second.

As usual, comments and constructive criticism are welcome.
