The Linux Users Group (Singapore) was formed to foster the use of Linux
within the Singapore computer community, and to help newbies and veterans
alike make the most of their Linux installations.
Our monthly meetings are held every second Friday, and feature talks on
all things Linux. During our first public meeting, Wizard Multimedia was
also on hand with special offers on Linux products, and we hope to have
vendors hold regular promotions at our meetings.
In addition, we encourage members to actively participate during this
meetings through Work-In-Progress Reports, during which you can tell the
LUGS community about a hot new utility or kernel mod that you're working
on, and get valuable feedback and tips in return.
Membership is open to all, and the general public is invited to our next
meeting on Fri 12 Apr 1995 at 7pm. Here's the agenda:

Agenda for Friday 12 May, 1995 meeting of
The Linux Users Group (Singapore)
The agenda for our 12 May, 1995 meeting will be as follows:
o LUG(S) business
o A demo, or talk
o closing business. Discuss upcoming meeting agenda(s).
We have arranged for a laptop, an OHP, and an LCD panel, to allow this demo
to be seen by everyone.
This month's meeting will concentrate on:
Basic Unix System Administration.
Discussion will center on common unix tools used to adminster
a unix system, followed by a discussion of proper setup of unix
boot files (/etc/rc), cron jobs, setting up, and administering uucp,
mail, news, and newsreaders.
An installed Linux system will be used as a reference model.
Admission is free for members of the Linux Users Group (S'pore), and only $5
for non-members. Non-members who wish to sign up for membership may do so in
lieu of paying the $5 entrance fee.
