DSS is pleased to announce DACS version 1.4.13.

This is primarily a bug fix and minor enhancements release.

Important new features include:
  + port to Apache 2.2
+ dacsauth, an initial version of a command line
    authentication program
  + a new authentication module, local_cas_authenticate,
for authenticating through the Central Authentication
    Service (CAS)

Note: shortly after release, a significant bug was found. Please refer to
http://dacs.dss.ca/download.html for details and the fix.

DACS is security software - we urge all users to upgrade to the latest release.

DACS is:
o a powerful role-based access control system that can apply flexible
access control to virtually any web service request
o enhanced Apache authentication and authorization
  o single sign-on for Apache
o for script and application developers, able to provide access control
and authentication functionality to almost any program or script
o for Unix-type platforms, such as Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris

DACS 1.4.13 is released under dual licensing terms (a GPL-compatible open
source license and a commercial license).

DACS is hosted on SourceForge at http://sourceforge.net/projects/dacs
For more information, please visit the DACS home page at http://dacs.dss.ca
