Subject: sysstat-6.0.2 - System performance tools for Linux

Hi everybody,

This is to announce that a new stable version for sysstat has been
released and is available for download.
Version 6.0.2 fixes a bug that was corrupting the device names displayed
by iostat on 64-bit architectures. It also adds a new field to iostat
and mpstat to display CPU "steal" time (this field will be added to sar
in the next sysstat 6.1.x development series).

Sysstat 6.0.2 is available for download from my web page at:
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/sebastien.godard/

148kB sysstat-6.0.2.tar.gz
117kB sysstat-6.0.2.tar.bz2
152kB sysstat-6.0.2-1.src.rpm
137kB sysstat-6.0.2-1.i586.rpm

It will also be available on ibiblio Linux archive site in a few days:
ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/system/status/

The sysstat utilities are a collection of performance monitoring tools
for Linux. These include sar, sadf, mpstat, iostat and sa tools.
Feedback always welcomed. Send your remarks and comments to:
sysstat <at> wanadoo.fr.

To learn some more about sysstat, check out
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/sebastien.godard/

Enjoy!

Changes vs 6.0.1 are:
* New field added to mpstat and iostat: %steal.
* sar updated to take into account cpu steal time.
* Off-by-one error in ioc_conv which was corrupting device names on
64-bit architecture [Debian bug #334305].
* Binary RPM package now installs a sample crontab in /etc/cron.d.
* Makefile updated (remove sysstat.cron.* during make clean - new target
added: sysstat.crond.sample).
* sar now checks exit code from dup2() system calls.
* Option -V now only displays sysstat version number.
* NLS updated.
* FAQ updated.
* Manual pages updated.

Even when using a CMS checking websites for broken links is an issue.
Not everybody uses a CMS, and for finding broken links to external web
pages more specialized tools are needed. LinkByLink offers solutions for
these and other tasks. The software and the user's manual are available
in English and in German.

The results of a website check can be exported in several formats and
can be filtered by regular expressions. The integrated HTML source code
browser helps finding the exact location of an error. Accessing secure
websites is supported by a certificate and authentication manager. The
number of parallel connections can be configured globally and on a
per-host basis. Multi-threading ensures an optimum of performance.

The LinkByLink Pro Edition offers additional features. A validating
parser is included, and a console mode without a graphical user
interface supports automated tests. Results can be stored in an SQL
database or can automatically be forwarded by e-mail. The HTTP
communication can be recorded in order to analyze general communication
problems.

LinkByLink, an evaluation license and more details are available on the
LinkByLink homepage:

http://www.linkbylink.net/

LinkByLink is distributed by Uwe Seimet Software as Standard Edition for
59 Euros and as Pro Edition for 249 Euros.
