Subject: iCanProgram courses and Knoppix
iCanProgram (http://www.icanprogram.com/nofeecourses.html) has been
offering online Linux programming courses for nofees since Jan 2002.
Students are simply asked to make a voluntary donation to Cancer research
in memory of one of the course founders.
These courses have been a great success with over 2500 students todate.
iCanProgram would like to extend the reach of these courses to students who
may not yet have transitioned to Linux.
For this they are actively seeking volunteers from the Knoppix liveCD user
community to write some online documentation which would allow non Linux
users to take iCanProgram courses using the Knoppix CD and some form of
persistent storage (floppy, memory key).

Subject: open source project expands
The SIMPL project (https://sourceforge.net/projects/simpl) aims to bring
Send/Receive/Reply style messaging first pioneered by RTOS's such as QNX to
the Linux platform.
After 5 years the SIMPL library is quite mature and widely used.
The project needs to set out on some new directions to keep and capture
developer interest.
As such they are actively looking for new help to enhance the embedded
SIMPL offerings (eg. a port to uClibc for example).
In addition there is need for developers with Knoppix customization skills
to take the prototype SIMPL selfhosted(live) CD to the finish line.
