Dear music enthusiasts,
LilyPond version 2.4 was released today!
LilyPond is a program for making beautiful music notation. It is
open source/free software, and is available for all popular operating
systems. It runs on most Unix flavors --including Linux and MacOS X--
and MS Windows. Use it for your music as well!
With this release, LilyPond does not rely anymore on TeX to do titling
and page layout, but distributes page breaks optimally by itself to
produce evenly spaced pages, while respecting user specified turning
points.
The slur formatting code has been completely rewritten, and now yields
classical engraving quality results for most cases.
In addition, version 2.4 adds fret diagrams, a safe execution mode for
webserver use, a further simplified input format, better typography
for ledger lines, many bugfixes and a fully revised and updated
manual.

An updated NSA Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) release is available
from the NSA web site; see
<http://www.nsa.gov/selinux/news.cfm#R041102>. This release is based on
Linux 2.6.9, but the current SELinux patch for the kernel includes a
number of changes made after 2.6.9 was released, including the xattr
code consolidation, the send_sigurg mediation, the setscheduler deadlock
fix, the locking fixes for the sidtab and netif table, and the AVC
scalability work. The checkpolicy policy compiler has been updated to
preserve port context ordering in order to allow sensible use of port
ranges, and this facility is now used by the example policy to map all
otherwise unspecified reserved ports to a distinct type that can be
tightly controlled. Numerous improvements to libselinux,
policycoreutils, and policy have been merged. An updated version of
setools from Tresys has been merged. A new policy generation tool from
MITRE has been added. Updated userland patches and SRPMS have been
merged from the Fedora Core 3 development tree.
Security-Enhanced Linux incorporates a strong, flexible mandatory access
control architecture into the major subsystems of the Linux kernel. The
system provides a mechanism to enforce the separation of information
based on confidentiality and integrity requirements. This mechanism
enables protection of application security mechanisms against tampering
and bypass, and it enables confinement of the damage that can be caused
by flawed and malicious applications. The SELinux web site
