I've made a new Skolelinux CD image, release 1.0 with code name Venus.
It is available from

650 MiB.
Major changes since the previous image:
* Several improvements to the first stage installer (d-i), and more
translations as well. (Debian)
* Updated discover-data to detect and handle more hardware. (Petter)
* Updated locale-config-skolelinux to support more language/regions. (Petter)
* Corrected typo in installation script, making dhcpd restart work again.
(Klaus Ade/Finn-Arne)
* Improved SMB initialization, speeding up the installation. (Finn-Arne)
* Increased /usr on several profiles and variants, to make sure there is 10%
free after installation. (Finn-Arne)
* Upgraded from Jave J2RE v1.3 to 1.4. (Finn-Arne)
* Gave up trying to restart all services in the right order. Now reboots at
the end of the installation. (Petter)
* Security updates to: cvs (to 1.11.1p1debian-9woody7 / DSA 519-1), kdelibs
(to 2.2.2-13.woody.10 / DSA 518-1), krb5 (to 1.2.4-5woody5 / DSA-520-1),
kernel-image-2.4.26-1-* (fixes Kernel Crash-Exploit, desa-2004-006)
* We probably forgot to list something.
I have testet that the CD is bootable and installable using VMWare.
A list of known bugs is available from <URL:http://bugs.skolelinux.no/>.
The following configuration for server and LTSP-server should work out
of the box:
- Apache
- CUPS
- DHCP
- DNS
- LDAP
- LTSP
- NFS
- NTP
- SMTP/IMAP over SSL
- SSH
- Squid
- Webmin
- User administration
- Backup
- Host and service monitoring.
- SMB
The following services do not work as they should:
- cfengine (need host netgroups)
- SQL-server (unable to install automatically)
Test it and find out more. :-)
The disk usage for the different profiles (in KiB) is as follows.
Please take the numbers with a small grain of salt.
