    Hello,

    the TuxMobil News digest for April 2004[1] has good news
    for Linux PDA, mobile phone and laptop users. Here is an
    extract of the most important or most interesting messages.

    Werner Heuser

|=| TuxMobil now contains more than 2.000 links[2] to Linux laptop and
    notebook installation reports. Finally there is a solution to enable the
    external CRT on i855GM based laptops (e.g. Centrino), take the i855crt
    userspace driver[3]. A new issue (0.13.2) of the well-used Synaptics [4]
    touchpad driver is available and laptop_mode, which extends the battery
    life of your laptop has made it into Kernel 2.6.6[5].

|=| Trolltech has released the first issue of their Qtopia Phone Edition[6].
    For more information about Linux on or with cellular mobile phones see
    the TuxMobil - Mobile Phone Survey[7].

|=| Linux support for portable (digital) audio players is on the rise,
    many common players are already supported[8], e.g. you may soon expect
    release 1.0 of PodSync[9] to synchronize kabc and kaddressbook with an
    Apple iPod.

Date: 1 Jun 2004 10:50:00 GMT
Reply-To: bhaak@gmx.net

Announcing the version 2.6.5 release of Vilistextum.

Vilistextum is a small and fast HTML to text converter.
It is quite fault-tolerant and deals well with badly-formed HTML.
It has full support for different character sets (e.g. Unicode).

Some features:
==============
* understands HTML 3.2 upto 4.01 and XHTML 1.0
* supports various multibyte encodings (Unicode, Shift_JIS, ...)
* output can be optimized for ebook reading
* converts characters and entities between 128 and 159 from the
  windows1252 charset to meaningful strings in ISO-8859-1.
* GUI-frontend using kaptain
* creates footnotes for links

Changes:
========
* vilistextum recognizes character set, even if it is declared with
        <META http-equiv="charset" content="utf-8">
* BUGFIX: --no-title in combination with --shrink-lines didn't work
* BUGFIX: ignore html tags inside script environments
* BUGFIX: sometimes the last word in the document was not output

         InterSystems Ensemble Positioned in Visionary Quadrant
               in Application Integration Magic Quadrant

     Magic Quadrant Placement Based on Vision and Ability to Execute

Cambridge, Mass.—June 1, 2004—InterSystems Corporation today announced
that the company is positioned in the Visionaries Quadrant in Gartner,
Inc.’s Application Integration Magic Quadrant.i

Cambridge, Mass.-based InterSystems provides high performance software
products targeted for IT organizations and independent software vendors.
Gartner, Inc., headquartered in Stamford, CT, is a world leader in IT
market research.

InterSystems’ positioning in the Magic Quadrant is based on its Ensemble
universal integration platform. Launched in late 2003, Ensemble is the
only integration platform to incorporate the functionality of an
integration server, application server, high performance object database
and a unified development and management environment in a single,
architecturally consistent product.

The Magic Quadrant research identifies vendors active in the integration
middleware market and characterizes their roles in the industry as of
May 2004. According to Gartner, Inc., “visionaries understand the market
and customer requirements well, but have a smaller installed base and
often have fewer assets committed to the pursuit of this market than
leaders.” Vendor positioning in this Magic Quadrant “considers a broad
combination of application integration requirements, spanning B2B and
internal application integration scenarios,” according to Gartner, Inc.
The research gives equal weight to data consistency integration,
multistep processes that tie applications together and composite
applications, which Gartner, Inc. describes as the “three major
integration styles.”

In addition to offering Ensemble, InterSystems develops and markets the
CACHÉ post-relational database. “We consider InterSystems’ positioning
in the visionary quadrant in the Gartner, Inc. Magic Quadrant to be a
reflection of the unique and comprehensive nature of our Ensemble
universal integration platform,” says InterSystems Managing Director,
Application Integration Trevor Matz. “We expect Ensemble to achieve the
same high level of market acceptance that our CACHÉ post-relational
database enjoys around the world.”

integration of high-performance applications.

Over four million people use mission-critical applications based on
InterSystems' software. Twenty regional offices serve application
