Subject: sysstat-5.0.4 - System performance tools for Linux

Hi all,

This is to announce that a new stable version of sysstat (sysstat-5.0.4) has
been released. It fixes a few bugs, some concerning the sysstat shell script
called on system reboot. A bug introduced in version 5.0.1 prevented it from
working properly (LINUX RESTART messages could no longer be added automatically
to daily data files on system restart).

Also remember that beginning with sysstat 5.0.2, iostat can look again for
extended statistics in /proc/partitions if available.
Sysstat 5.0.x can be used with *all* Linux kernels, including recent,
cutting-edge 2.6.x ones.

Sysstat 5.0.4 is available for download from my web page at:
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/sebastien.godard/

It is also available on ibiblio's Linux archive site:
ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/system/status/
119kB sysstat-5.0.4.tar.gz
97kB sysstat-5.0.4.tar.bz2
122kB sysstat-5.0.4-1.src.rpm
85kB sysstat-5.0.4-1.i386.rpm

The sysstat utilities are a collection of performance monitoring tools for
Linux. These include sar, mpstat, iostat and sa tools.
Feedback always welcomed . Send your remarks and comments to:
<sysstat|at|wanadoo|dot|fr>.

Enjoy!

Changes vs 5.0.3 are:
* When trying to lock file, sadc now checks for both EWOULDBLOCK and EAGAIN
error codes to be portable.
* sar could sometimes display a line whose time stamp was greater than the
limit set by -e option. This is no longer possible.
* The sadc command in sysstat.sh script had to be enclosed in quotes to work
when called via 'su -c'.
* The sysstat.sh script was sending the output of sadc command to stdout
instead of the standard system activity file. This is now fixed.
* Outfile must now be explicitly set to "-" for sadc to use the standard system
activity file.
* FAQ updated.
* iostat manual page updated. Typo fixed in sadc manual page.
* Fixed the "Save picture" option of isag script.
