Subject: RELEASED GNU Mailman 2.1.5 (fwd)
This is from Barry Warsaw of Mailman. FN
========== Forwarded message ==========
I have released version 2.1.5 of Mailman, the GNU Mailing List Manager.
Mailman is released under the GNU General Public License (GPL). Version
2.1.5 is a bug fix release that also contains new support for the
Turkish language, and a few minor new features. Mailman 2.1.5 is a
significant upgrade which should improve disk i/o performance,
administrative overhead for discarding held spams, and the behavior of
bouncing member disables. This version also contains a fix for an
exploit that could allow 3rd parties to retrieve some member passwords.
It is thus highly recommended that all existing sites upgrade to the
latest version. You should read the UPGRADING file for important
information before you start your upgrade.
See the links below for a detailed list of changes.
Mailman is free software that enables users to manage email mailing
lists and e-newsletters. Its integrated web interface provides
easy-to-use access for list members and list administrators. Mailman
supports built-in archiving, automatic bounce processing, content
filtering, digest delivery, spam filters, and more. Mailman is
compatible with most web servers, web browsers, and mail servers. It
runs on any Unix-like operating system. Mailman 2.1.5 requires Python
2.1.3 or newer, although Python 2.3.3 is recommended. To install
Mailman from source, you will need a C compiler.
For more information on Mailman, including links to file downloads,
please see any of the Mailman mirror web pages:
http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman
http://mailman.sourceforge.net
http://www.list.org
(Some mirrors may be lagging.)
Source tarballs are available at
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=103
There are email lists (managed by Mailman, of course!) for both Mailman
users and developers. See the web sites above for details.
Enjoy,
-Barry

C++ Portable Types Library (PTypes)
Release 2.0.2
http://www.melikyan.com/ptypes/
The C++ Portable Types Library (PTypes) is a simple alternative to the
STL that includes multithreading and networking. It defines dynamic
strings, character sets, variants, lists and other basic data types
along with threads, synchronization primitives and IP sockets. It is
portable across modern Unix and Windows systems and includes a sample
HTTP daemon showing the full power of the library.
The changes in this release are as follows:
The memory corruption problem in multi-threaded applications compiled
with the LinuxThreads library has been fixed. Several minor
improvements and bugfixes have been made for streams and for the
dynamic string class.
Please, see the change log for more details:
