Hello,

This is to announce the release of Trustix Secure Linux 2.1, nicknamed
"Horizon". It is the second release in the Trustix 2 series.

Its main purpose is to serve as a stability release, and it is the natural
successor of Trustix 2.0. In addition, we have added a few more features
including Samba 3, IBM's stack protector and the XFS filesystem. We have also
updated most of the packages to the latest stable version.

So what does this release feature?
* Swup 2.3
* Samba 3.0.2
* Perl 5.8.3
* PHP 4.3.4
* Mysql 4.0.18
* Postfix 2.0.18
* MIT Kerberos v5
* DKMS
* Postgresql 7.4.1
* OpenSSH 3.8p1
* XFS filesystem support
* IBM's stack protector

and a lot more.

So where can you get it?
You can find it on your favorite mirror. If you don't know where that is,
please see http://www.trustix.org/mirrors/

Notes on upgrading
If you want to upgrade your previous Trustix Secure Linux installation,
please see the Upgrading Howto on
http://doc.trustix.org/cgi-bin/trustixdoc.cgi?UpgradingHowto

About Trustix Secure Linux
Trustix Secure Linux is a small Linux distribution for servers. With focus
on security and stability, the system is painlessly kept safe and up to
date from day one using swup, the automated software updater. The project
website is http://www.trustix.org/ .

Other products
We aim to release Trustix Secure Linux 2.2 in September 2004. Following
this, we will End of Life Trustix Secure Linux 2.0 six months later in
March 2005. TSL 2.2 as the last of the Trustix 2 series will, in the same
way TSL 1.5 for the TSL 1 series, have a significantly longer lifetime.

Subject: [ANN] Chipmunk Basic, version 3.5.9b3

Chipmunk Basic is an old-fashioned BASIC interpreter.

A command line version of Chipmunk Basic 3.5.9b3 ported to linux/x86
is now available. This release includes bug fixes for instr(),
val(".."), block if (): endif and a potential buffer overflow; and
adds the fn pid and fn sysfork() functions. Sockets and pipes are
also supported by this release.

Free for personal and educational use.

IMHO. YMMV.
