Hiya Peeps,
Finally we all can switch to kernel 1.2.1, since we can safely install the PC
speaker sound driver and play DOOM full-time.
I've uploaded the files pcsnd-0.8-1.2.1.lsm and pcsnd-0.8-1.2.1.tar.gz to
sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux/Incoming and to tsx-11.mit.edu:/incoming. The
filename is now a bit on the long side, but then again it has the version of
the sound driver _and_ of the kernel. I hope that ppl will adopt my
nomenclature.
All you need to install the PC speaker sound driver is contained in the
.tar.gz archive: utility programs (vplay etc.), the kernel patches, a couple
of sample files.
I am neither the author nor the maintainer of this package, I just revamped
the diffs a bit and re-posted all. Also I've put all the necessary things in
the archive, so that you now need only one file to install all.

Title: pcsnd-kit: Sound driver for the PC speaker
Version: 0.8, w/ kernel patches for 1.2.1
Entered-date: 1995
Description: Includes patches for the kernel, sources for utility programs
to play sound files, a couple of sample sounds and the docs. I
just revamped the patches to go into kernel 1.2.1 and wrote
one extra README file. Also I somewhat reorganized the older
archive into subdirs: all you need for a 1.2.1 kernel is now
_this_ archive, pcsnd-0.8-1.2.1.tar.gz.
I hope that ppl will adopt my nomenclature to name the archive
"pcsnd-<sounddriverversion>-<kernelversion>.tar.gz". That
should make life somewhat easier..
