From: Chris Lowth <chris@lowth.com>
Subject: ANNOUNCE: TCP/IP Connection cutter - cutter 1.02
Date: 17 Jun 2003 10:00:01 GMT

Version 1.02 of "cutter" is now available. This version corrects a bug in
the 1.01 version whereby the tool halted it's processing loop on the first
error detected, rather than continuing to attempt to "cut" the remaining
matching connections.

CUTTER 1.02 - June 2003

Network security administrators sometimes need to be able to abort TCP/IP
connections routed over their firewalls on demand. This would allow them to
terminate connections such as SSH tunnels or VPNs left in place by
employees over night, abort hacker attacks when they are detected, stop
high bandwidth consuming downloads - etc. There are many potential
applications.

"Cutter" is an open source program that allows network administrators to
abort TCP/IP connections routed over a Linux firewall or router.

Documentation and downloads are available at:

        http://www.lowth.com/cutter

=========================================================================
LICENSE

Cutter 1.00 is released under the terms of GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE
Version 2 (June 1991) and comes with all the usual freedom, openness and
disclaimers associated with that license.

=========================================================================
STATUS

Cutter 1.00 should be considered EXPERIMENTAL. The author is releasing a
tool that works on the systems he has access to (namely: IPCop and
RedHat Linux), and he is seeking input on it's use on other systems,
ideas for improvement, etc.

             TRADEPAQ Selects InterSystems’ CACHÉ Database
                     For Commodity Trading Software

High Performance, Scalability Key to Technology Choice

Cambridge, Mass.—June 17, 2003—InterSystems Corporation today announced
that TRADEPAQ Corporation, a provider of collaborative supply chain
execution solutions for global commerce, has selected its CACHÉ
post-relational database as the foundation technology for its TRM
trading and risk management software. The world’s fastest growing
database company, InterSystems develops and markets the high performance
CACHÉ database.

TRADEPAQ:TRM is a specialized ERP and supply chain system that enables
enterprises to manage virtually every trading function—from the original
physical contract, through shipment of the material, to final invoicing
and payment. Interrelated modules cover contract management, risk
management, logistics, treasury and integrated accounting.

Real-Time Mark-to-Market Information

When evaluating database technologies that could provide the
reliability, performance, scalability and rapid application development
capabilities required for the ever changing commodities market, TRADEPAQ
found that CACHÉ was the logical choice, according to Warren Fisher,
TRADEPAQ’s executive vice president and chief operating officer. “We
were astonished at the high level of performance and scalability that
CACHÉ delivers,” he says. “And we found that the system maintenance and
administration functionality CACHÉ provides reduce DBA requirements to
virtually zero. We knew it was the perfect RAD environment to enable our
application.”

The ability to manage a global trading book with real-time
mark-to-market information provides the trader and the chief financial
officer the ability to immediately react to changing market conditions.
Optimized for Web development, the CACHÉ architecture is ideally suited
to support TRADEPAQ:TRM, which provides true, on-demand information,
ensuring that traders and key financial and executive staff have access
to the latest financial information needed to reduce inherent business
risk factors.

“We’re delighted that TRADEPAQ has selected and certified CACHÉ for
their software,” says InterSystems Vice President of Strategic Planning
Paul Grabscheid. “CACHÉ is designed to deliver time-critical information
when financial professionals need to see it—immediately. Our partnership
with TRADEPAQ illustrates InterSystems’ focus on expansion in the
financial services arena. It’s a market sector where the demand for
database power, performance and scalability make CACHÉ a natural fit.”

The CACHÉ-based TRADEPAQ:TRM solution is available now.
