Subject: Severna park, MD LUG proposal!

//////////////////////////////Intro////////////////////////////////////////////////
Hi my name is Mike Farrell and I am 19 years old. I am living in
Severna Park, MD USA.I really find it boring around here and I've looked
into both of the local LUG's in my area (annapolis and glen burnie).
Neither one really seems to be 100% organized or consistent at the moment.
I'm interested in founding a weekly or monthly Severna Park Linux
User Group for all of us around here that are tired of sitting in our
houses and doing nothing on Monday nights.
As of right now this is merely a proposal and I won't go through
with this if I don't get at least 2 emails of interest. I am very open to
suggestions right now as for meeting points and schedules. I can also say
that anyone that joins this group will get their time's worth. Since I
started using this OS i have been able to do the following independent of
windows:
*Compile and install a recent kernel fine tuned to my system.
*Get my partitioned usb hard drive to work in linux
*Run a working personal HTTP /w PHP and FTP server.
*Download/play mp3's and Burn CD's using command line cdrecord
utility.
*Develop free video games for the Linux OS.
*Watch decent framerated DVD'S with menu support now thanks to OGLE.
*Run remote terminal & X sessions between my laptop back and forth
and share files through samba.
I'd be willing to show other people how to do all this stuff themselves :-).
I'll also be hosting the web page for the LUG if it takes off on a
subdirectory of my web site:
http://ltsword.allegronetwork.com
If anyone in the area is interested in starting up this group, please email
me at gccdragoonkain@yahoo.com.
Thanks

Condorcet with Dual Dropping Perl script
http://condorcet-dd.sourceforge.net/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/condorcet-dd/
http://freshmeat.net/projects/condorcet_dd/?topic_id=234
A vote tabulation and ranking system for deciding single or multi-winner contests (elections) using preference or approval ballots. Dual Dropping will compute the Schwartz Sequential Dropping (SSD) and Tideman's Ranked Pair (RP) results for each contest round and select the combined SSD and RP contest outcome with the lowest overall dropping cost. It has options to compute just the SSD or RP outcome, various optional tie-breakers, and alternative measures of defeat and dropping cost (winning votes and/or margin). See documentation on SourceForge.
Available in RPM package or tar.gz formats and zip format for Microsoft Windows (with setup.exe install wizard).
