Summary: POV-Ray 2.2 for Linux is officially released.
Keywords: POV POV-Ray Linux Official POVRAY

Followup-to: comp.os.linux.misc
The POV-Team has made available an official compilation of POV-Ray for the
Linux operating system. The release contains three binaries (no display,
SVGALib display, and X-Windows) as well as the machine-specific source.
POV-Ray is a popular raytracer which is distributed as copyrighted freeware.
The SVGALib and X-Windows version support up to 24bpp display, assuming
you have it available on your system.
You can obtain these files from ftp.povray.org:/pub/povray/Official/Linux.
Be sure to read povinf.doc in that location before downloading files so
that you know which archives you need to run POV-Ray.
The FTP site also contains a large assortment of scene files, images,
utilities, patches, and so forth for POV-Ray.
