Automated Session Management on Apache (iConductor)
LUGs in India (now totalling 61) (Frederick Noronha)

From: rinke@i-conductor.com (iConductor)
Subject: Automated Session Management on Apache
Date: Mon, 23 Dec 2002 11:14:22 CST
Tulsa, OK -- Farpointer Technologies today announced new automated
session management for the Apache server. The company's iConductor
server module interacts with HTML files to automatically implement
session tracking via any URL. In addition, iConductor manages simple
key/values as well as complex documents such as Web Services requests
and replies. These features save a significant amount of developer
time in building Internet-based applications.
iConductor interacts directly and sequentially with HTML files to
store and deliver information between web pages or applications. This
interaction allows iConductor to perform tasks such as the automatic
completion of forms, and more complex tasks such as the shuttling of
structured or unstructured information between applications. In
today's world of distributed applications, a particularly useful
feature is the ability to implement a custom ontology – that is, to
translate web key names when communicating between external
applications.
iConductor provides a full complement of tools that permit secure
additions, modifications and selective deletions of session
information via simple instructions in an HTML page. Features that
make the iConductor empowered Apache server a preferred hosting
environment as well as a powerful tool to add to your development
arsenal include: enabling the POST method to an HTML page; the
ability to pass session information to hypertext programming
applications (PHP, ASP, CFM) or to CGI scripts; two-way interaction
with standard HTML input elements; and the ability to track complex
eBusiness transactions.
A free trial version of iConductor and an online demonstration are
available at www.i-conductor.com.

Subject: LUGs in India (now totalling 61)
LinuxIndia lists a total of nearly 61 LUGs across India (see below). If
this is true, then we have more LUGs in India than what the international
press is reporting as being present in the whole of Asia! Perhaps the list
also needs some updating. Some of the newer LUGs (e.g. Belgaum in North
Karnataka) don't show, while some might have lapsed into inactivity. FN
