Hi,
Some new work on the IOMEGA PC2 driver is finally being done. I
spoke with someone from IOMEGA on Thursday of this seek and they're once
again feeding me technical information: I have drive geometries for most
(if not all) of IOMEGA's drives and have stuck them in the driver.
Furthermore, there's a technical manual for the B150 in the mail on it's
way here so I can fix the DMA problem for drives that start with 'B'.
Unfortunately, I have yet to obtain distribution space (i.e. anon FTP)
more local to me than North Carolina- I contacted RIT on this during the
week and haven't yet heard anything. The little hacker inside my head
said "Why don't you uuencode the driver and include it in your .plan
file?"; while I'm not sure if this is a great idea yet (innovative,
but...) it's there.
If you wish to obtain the PC2 kernel patch for v1.2.0, type
finger bwh8918@grace.isc.rit.edu | uudecode
and you'll have a file called iomega_pc2-1.2.0.tar.gz in the current
directory.
If you don't trust me, type
finger bwh8918@grace.isc.rit.edu | cat > whatever
and you can check out "whatever" and see if it's ok.
I will update my .plan a few times per week (as time permits) with new
patches until I find a better method or someone yells at me. If you need an
old patch, email me and I'll send it to you.
Thanks.
