Hi !
We are pleased to announce the new apsfilter version 7.1.1.
For more informations visit the apsfilter homepage:
http://www.apsfilter.org/
The start page will give you general informations about
apsfilter's capabilities. Currently we support 34 file types,
11 archive formats and 6 compression types.
Via lpr -C / -Z options you can influence quality, style and
layout of the print process with over 40 commandline options.
We also offer a nice handbook, fine manual pages, configure support
which supports package makers needs, an "aps2file" utility and a tool
to preview apsfilter printjobs, called "apspreview".
Apsfilter supports the latest ghostscript versions as well as the
latest 3rd party gs drivers as: gimp-print, hpijs, ijs, hpdj, pcl3
and other.
SETUP supports you in installing printer on your Unix system.
You can choose between different drivers and can test the print
quality and performance of the drivers before actually installing
them.
Have fun !

Hi,
I have uploaded satcom v0.7, a bug-fix release of the SGP4/SDP4
satellite tracking application for Linux. This version incorporates
a fix to two bugs in the preparation of satellite name strings in
two separate functions, that together produced a somewhat weird and
seemingly unpredictable corruption of the displayed satellite name
if this was 11 characters long.
Happy New Year!

Subject: Bas 1.0 - BASIC interpreter
Date: Mon, 31 Dec 2001 14:42:04 CST
Bas is an interpreter for the programming language BASIC, written in
ANSI C for UNIX systems. It is meant to be compatible to typical BASIC
interpreters of the 1980s, unlike some other UNIX BASIC interpreters,
that implement a different syntax which breaks compatibility with
existing programs. Bas incorporates some features of BBC BASIC such as
procedures, local variables, extended exception handling and automatic
LIST indentation. It understands unnumbered programs and many ANSI
BASIC statements for structured programming and a couple extensions
from other BASIC dialects such as matrix operations and TDL BASIC
style functions. The interpreter tokenises the source and resolves
references to variables and jump targets before running the program.
This compilation pass increases efficiency and catches syntax errors,
type errors and references to variables that are never initialised.
The source is available from:
http://www.moria.de/~michael/bas/
After a long testing period, release 1.0 is now available. Enjoy running
old programs within a modern environment. :)

Hi!
I have uploaded wxapt-v0.4, a new features and bug-fix release
version of the wxapt APT weather image decoder for Linux. This
version incorporates histogram (linear) normalization of the PGM
images produced, as well as 180 deg. rotation for rectifying
inverted images produced by north-to-south satellite passes.
There is also a fix for an 'off-by-one' error in a strcpy()
statement that can affect the auto sound-card setup process.
wxapt is free software released under the GPL at:

A new version of UDPCast has been released, and is available at
http://www.udpcast.linux.lu/ . Udpcast is a file transfer tool that
can send data simultaneously to many destinations. This can for
instance be used to install entire classrooms of PCs at once. The
advantage of UDPcast over using other methods (nfs, ftp, whatever) is
that UDPcast uses Ethernet's multicast abilities: it won't take longer
to install 15 machines than it would to install 2.
UDPcast can be started from the included SuSE linuxrc bootdisk (see
homepage) for OS installations, or from the command line when using it
for other purposes.
The following bug fixes and features have been added since the last
version:
- Fixed socklib such as to no longer require the presence of the
in_addr_t type (useful for compiling udpcast on older Linux
distributions)
- Fixed --mcast-addr flag, which was ignored in previous versions
- Added new --mcast-all-addr flag, in order to override the default
broadcast/multicast address used for finding peers
