I am pleased to announce that Aegis 3.26 is now available.

Aegis is a transaction-based software configuration management
system. It provides a framework within which a team of developers
may work on many changes to a program independently, and Aegis
coordinates integrating these changes back into the master source
of the program, with as little disruption as possible.

You are invited to visit
        http://www.canb.auug.org.au/~millerp/aegis/
for a more complete description of what Aegis is, and access to
the download files.

For information about what new features are available in this
release, please see the README file available at the above site.

After we had read the nice page of Noel Bell PGP signed web-pages

we thought nice method but not very simple to use. For this reason we
wrote the simple perl tool pgphtml to generate PGP or GPG signed
web-pages based on Noel Bell methodology and unpgphtml to return to
the originals from PGP or GPG signed web-pages with PGPHTML.
Here you can fing the perl free source

BETA test --- LILO 22.0 --- 20-Jun-2001

Major LILO update, largely compatible with version 21, but not entirely.

READ THE FILE 'INCOMPAT' IN THE SOURCE DIRECTORY

1. The password facility is significantly reworked to enhance security with
interactively entered passwords.

2. Raid1 installation behavior is completely different; but there is a
compatibility mode, if you ask for it.

3. A boot loader which supports a 640x480x16 bitmapped startup screen is
available.

Examples are in the 'sample' subdirectory, below the source directory.

==================================================

If you download and use this code, please tell the author if it works for
you. I know I'll hear from you if it doesn't. :-)

From: Seth David Schoen <schoen@loyalty.org>
Subject: LNX-BBC -- new Bootable Business Card mini-distribution

I am pleased to announce to the general public a new mini-distribution
derived from the Linuxcare Bootable Business Card. This distribution is
called LNX-BBC, and you can see its home page at

http://www.lnx-bbc.org/

All of the original developers who created the Linuxcare Bootable Business
Card (Duncan MacKinnon, Thomas Crimi, and myself) are now working on this
project, with the co-operation of several other long-time Bootable Business
Card developers and contributors.

The LNX-BBC system, like the Linuxcare Bootable Business Card, is a rescue
system designed to fit in a 50-megabyte bootable CD-ROM in the size and
shape of a business card. Thus, you can carry in your pocket a complete
bootable rescue system, including X11, networking, cryptography, many file
and disk diagnostic and recovery tools, and much more. (Currently we use the
cloop compressed loopback block device driver, written by Rusty Russell and
maintained by Klaus Knopper, to increase the effective capacity of the
CD-ROM.)

This system is also useful for turning almost any system which can boot CDs
into a simple Linux workstation. We also aim to make the system easily
customizable so that you can use it as a starting point for your own
bootable CD-ROMs.

The need for a fork was first recognized after several of the BBC developers
had left Linuxcare. Several attempts were made to gain access for them to
continue working on the project. None of these attempts were successful, and
when nearly all the developers had left the company's employment, we felt
that it was necessary, in order to continue our development efforts, to
create an independent project.

We plan a release in time for LinuxWorld Conference and Expo in August,
where Duncan and I will be giving a conference presentation on bootable
Linux CDs.

We have a mailing list for users and developers. To subscribe, or view the
archives, see

http://zork.net/mailman/listinfo/lnx-bbc/

My original announcement of this project, which contains some predictions
about new features and the future course of development, is available at

http://zork.net/pipermail/lnx-bbc/2001-May/000003.html

libbadpenguin 1.0.0 - generic library and scripts for console tools development

[english]

libbadpenguin is a small static library used in many utilities that are
part of the Antonio Gallo's (AGX) GNU/Linux distribution "Bad Penguin".
It provides functions to manage the filesystem, double linked lists
(chains), terminal (cursor and color) and to handle TAR archives.

libbadpenguin goal is to speed-up the development of console tools
and utilities without requiring big static libraries such as
'ncurses' or 'GNU glib'. libbadpenguin is indeed to be small as
possibile in order to be linked statically avoiding dependencie
problems between different GNU/Linux distributions.

libbadpenguin include a directory scripts. This is a collection
of scripts used from other binaries and configuration tool
from "Bad Penguin". It provides scripts to manage the
filesystem or to automate some user operations.
One particular script is "untar" that is used as a frontend
to explode the most common archive formats like rpm, deb, tgz,
bzipped files and more.

Please, download from:
        http://ftp.badpenguin.org/pub/software/libbadpenguin/
        http://www.badpenguin.org/

in formato TAR.

formati di archiviazione o pacchettizzazione come rpm, deb, tgz,
bzip ed altri.

What is cgipasswd?

"cgipasswd" allows users to change their passwd by a web interface, it
supports PAM and non-PAM systems. cgipasswd has been tested with
  Debian gnu/Linux (potato & woody) and Sun Solaris 2.6 & 7.

New in cgipasswd 1.0rc1:

+ accessdb against brute force attacks. Users with too many invalid tries
    can be locked.
  + uses configure to compile

cgipasswd is available at: http://www.stafwag.f2s.com/cgipasswd
