Hi,
My name is James, and I currently run Linux on my computer. I guess I am
kind of new, and I was wondering if anyone know if there is a User's Group in
Hawaii, and if not, would anyone be interested in starting one. Please let me
know. Thank You.

Subject: rexima 1.1 - curses-based (and command-line) mixer

Reply-To: russell.marks@ntlworld.com
=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
rexima is a curses-based interactive mixer which can also be used from
the command-line. It runs on any terminal with a screen size of 80x24
or greater. It's intended to be a simple, general, usable mixer
without all the chrome usually present in other mixers.
You can download it from here (but it's better to use your nearest
metalab mirror):
ftp://metalab.unc.edu/pub/Linux/apps/sound/mixers/rexima-1.1.tar.gz
There's also a web page here:
http://rus.members.beeb.net/rexima.html
Version 1.1 is a bugfix release; there are a few more devices possible
now than there were in 1996. :-)
Here's the changes relative to the previous version (from NEWS):
There were too many devices to fit in an 80x24 rexima layout, and
retaining the `non-existent devices are shown but have no level
indicator' behaviour would have been painful. So it no longer shows
non-existent device names. Thanks to Pablo Averbuj for the fix.
Changed layout slightly to cope with longer device names (eight chars
rather than the old six).
Made `make install' a little less fragile, and added uninstall target.
Here's the LSM entry:

Subject: DVIV, a DVI viewer for GGI/freetype2
Date: Sun, 22 Oct 2000 19:41:01 GMT
Reply-To: crusius@stanford.edu
=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
DVIV is a DVI viewer that uses the GGI library for graphics and the
freetype2 library for fonts. This means that the very same program can
be used to view DVI files in the console, under X windows, and so on.
Since it uses freetype2 for fonts, it can render DVI files directly
from Type1 and TrueType fonts without the need for an intermediate PK
file. You can find it at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/dviv
A note about fonts: Since the program uses freetype2 for fonts, until
freetype2 gets support for MF files you must have PostScript/TrueType
versions of all the fonts you use. Most distributions come with fonts
for TeX, but some LaTeX fonts are not included by default (lcircle,
for example).

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
[Submitter's note: The bulk of this message is in Norwegian. The message
is an invitation to a Bergen, Norway Linux user group meeting.]
Bergen Linux User Group fortsetter sin møteserie "Last Thursday" for
Linux-brukere og andre interesserte
Torsdag 26. oktober 2000, kl 18.00
for CD-aktiviteter.
torsdag i måneden*. På den foreløpige møteplanen gjenstår nå bare
ett møte til etter dette. Det blir:
Torsdag 30. november 2000, kl 18.00
inn i.
url:http://www.blug.linux.no. Der finner du løpende oppdatert info om
brukergruppen og annet linux-relatert stoff. En annen viktig kanal for
kommunikasjon med og mellom BLUG-medlemmer er epostlisten,
mailto:blug@blug.linux.no.
blug-listen mailto:blug@blug.linux.no.
mailto:majordomo@blug.linux.no med teksten
help
mailto:majordomo@blug.linux.no med
subscribe
som eneste tekst.
