I'd like to announce a new version of MemoNews. It's at:
http://www.ee.usyd.edu.au/~hutton
MemoNews is a perl program that gathers nntp news (what you're now
reading), threads the articles alphabetically, and packs them into the
PalmPilot MemoPad for offline reading/replying. It can handle multiple
newsgroups, posting, and has automatic expiration of articles. It was
written under Linux but seems to work with other unixes just as well.
Changes:
MemoNews is now much better at replies as it now has a simple
quotation system in place.
The threading mechanism has also been improved.

M:I-3 - Documenting the Linux kernel: http://kernelbook.sourceforge.net
The KernelBook Project is a collaborative effort of open source and
commercial developers to create an architectural guide to the Linux
2.4 kernel. The book-in-progress is available online for peer review
and will be published by Macmillan Computer Publishing under the Open
Publishing License.
KERNELBOOK NEWS FOR JUNE 2000:
Our project website now includes the latest TOC and links to the first
review chapters, "Contributing to the Kernel" and "Kernel Programming
Tools". The site also lists URLs for our SourceForge project page and
the FTP site where we are collecting packages bound for the book's CD.
The project page features the CVS archive of DocBook sources, an open
public review mailing list, forums, bug-tracking, a reader survey and
the usual SourceForge stuff.
Our website also includes HTML and PDF/PS files generated from the new
*Documentation/DocBook* directory of the 2.4 kernel sources; these
papers are not part of the KernelBook project, and are provided as a
public service to people who don't know how to do the DocBook thing.
