SANTA CLARA-February 1, 2000: DBMaker brings cost-effective scalability and
reliability to independent software vendors (ISVs) and developers looking to
improve functionality and database performance. DBMaker provides a host of
robust features that enhance the power, performance and usability of any
application. Coming this February is DBMaker version 3.6 with JDBC type 1
driver support, as well as Web script languages support, such as Perl, PHP3,
and Python, especially designed for Linux developers. Not only is Linux
supported; DBMaker 3.6 also supports Windows platforms.

With Perl, PHP3, and Python driver support, DBMaker provides Web developers
more convenient and flexible ways to design Web applications that need a
reliable database for information storage. Furthermore, to fulfill the
promise to Java users, DBMaker 3.6 also supports JDBC-ODBC bridge (type 1),
and is planning native JDBC driver (type 4) support in DBMaker 4.0.

Recently, Bengt Rindegard, Director of Sales and Marketing, announced that
CASEMaker has launched a DBMaker 3.6 free commercial use program for Linux
users. The goal of this program is to support Linux members as they
establish Web sites, create database servers, or distribute their database
applications powered by DBMaker's robust technology. Benefits include free
use in house, free distribution with developer's applications, complimentary
email support, and much, much more.

Simply go to http://www.dbmaker.com/linux and register. users will receive a
free commercial use serial number of DBMaker 3.6 for Linux automatically.

CASEMaker Inc. is in its first decade as an international, multi-line
supplier of software solutions for diverse markets. The company supplies
products to developers, distributors and individual customers that include
multimedia applications, as well as SQL DBMS environments and connectivity
products. CASEMaker was incorporated in 1992. Corporate headquarters are in
Santa Clara, California.

                LinuxTag 2000

Stuttgart, Germany - 29th of June to 2nd of July

                <URL:http://www.linuxtag.org/>

Having 5000 to 7000 visitors in the year 1999 LinuxTag was the largest Linux
exhibition in Europe. The audience we adress are people who use computers in
private, educational or business oriented settings, putting an emphasis
on those having little experience using Linux. During the days from Friday to
Sunday in addition to the exhibition talks will be given. As in the year 1999
the event will be free of charge both for the exhibition and the talks. The
talk should take about an hour of time.

All topics around Unix/Linux are of interest, especially those who let the
beginner get acquainted with Linux and its tools, e.g.
- - Introduction to Linux/Unix
- - Presentation of programs and their configuration.
- - Real life experiences using Linux.
- - Presentation of distributions or concepts, that might be interesting for
  end users.
- - System Administration.
- - Introduction to scripting languages.
- - Programming under Linux.

The program of LinuxTag 99 can be found at
http://www.linuxtag.org/tagungsprogramm.html
and might give you an idea of what we expect.

The lecturers are expected to give a written outline of their talk. This
outline will be published on the LinuxTag CD-ROM and, later on, in the Web.
Additionally there is the possibility of publishing the outline in a
magazine.

Travel expenses will be refunded.

If you are interested, you are invited to send in an abstract of about
150 words describing the content, the intention and the target group of
your talk.

Language: German or English
Deadline for the abstract: 10th of February 2000
Format of the abstract: Plain Text
Notification of the Lecturers: 20th of February 2000
Deadline for the paper: 3rd of April 2000

Author: David Goldsmith <daveg@ksrt.org>

Summary: Instructor is a 32 bit instruction set auditor.
By sequentially executing every 32 bit op-code,
one can find instructions that might have adverse
effects on operating environments. For example,
Instructor was used to find the non-privileged
                     halt instruction <http://www.ksrt.org/adv9.html>.

comments at the top of the source file.

Disclaimer: Exercise extreme caution when running this
program since it may cause your system to
                     abruptly halt, panic, or reboot.
