=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
PIKT, Problem Informant/Killer Tool, version 1.8.0
HIGHLIGHTS: Ported to AIX & IRIX. Added several security
enhancements: random timing values for alert scheduling; the
$checksum() family of functions for computing BSD, SysV, POSIX,
MD4 & MD5 checksums; several new file attribute functions; the
#random() function; tcp_only mode for client-server communications.
Made a number of other fixes and improvements.
"This is by far one of the most interesting/powerful tools I have
seen for Linux administration... an extremely interesting tool."
--Kurt Seifried, Linux Administrators Security Guide
(https://www.seifried.org/lasg)
PIKT, an innovative new paradigm for administering heterogeneous networked
workstations, is a multi-functional tool for monitoring systems, reporting
and fixing problems, and managing system configurations. PIKT is quickly
gathering potential as a serious security management system. PIKT comprises
an embedded scripting language with unique, labor-saving features; a
sophisticated script (and system config file) preprocessor, scheduler, and
installer; and other useful tools. Like a Swiss Army Knife, PIKT is a
category buster with many, many different uses limited only by your
ingenuity and imagination.
PIKT is distributed under the GNU General Public License. Available now
for GNU/Linux, AIX, FreeBSD, HP-UX, IRIX, Solaris, and SunOS. For more info,
and complete source code, documentation, and data files (all 50,000+ lines of
it), please visit the PIKT Web site at:

=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
I've now released version 1.21 of my Plug and Play ISA configuration tools.
They cover isolation, dumping resource data, and configuring ISA PnP devices.
The tools I wrote for this _will_ eventually be on
ftp://ftp.demon.co.uk/pub/unix/linux/utils/isapnptools-1.21.tgz (131222 bytes),
ftp://MetaLab.unc.edu/pub/Linux/system/hardware/isapnptools-1.21.tgz,

ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/pnp/utils/isapnptools-1.21.tgz and
ftp://ftp.lmh.ox.ac.uk/pub/linux/pnp/isapnptools-1.21.tgz
(And various mirror sites shortly afterwards).
isapnptools-1.21.lsm in the same directory is simply the LSM entry for
isapnptools.
isapnptools-1.21.bin.tgz in the same directory also includes precompiled
binaries.
I've uploaded them, but they may take a day or two to reach their final home.
The latest version is available now via the link on the isapnptools home
page: http://www.roestock.demon.co.uk/isapnptools/, as is a list of the
md5 checksums for each package.
The isapnptools FAQ is available via the home page above.
Here is the LSM entry:

llsi.sh v0.2 Released Dec 12, 1999.
'Tis the season. Not only are the holidays upon us but Linux related
businesses are going public. This is extremely important as these
businesses now affect many areas of Linux. In order to keep up to
date on these companies, I have written a small script which uses
Linux Weekly News' Linux Stock Index.
llsi.sh is a shell script which when run as a cron job, produces an
html file that can be used as a Server Side Include (SSI) suitable for
inclusion on a web page.
Features include configurable colors and other HTML parameters,
coloring of index change: negative=red, no_change=black,
positive=green. These too can be configured.
You can see it in action on the Mecworks page:
http://www.mecworks.com/
Simple, easy to use, released under the GPL...you can find it at:

Hello,
I have released a new version of mp3blaster, version 2.0b14. Mp3blaster
is an interactive text-based program that plays various (mp3,wav,..) audio

allows full interactive control during playback. Another important feature
is the ease with which one can create and store playlists grouped by albums.
Important recent changes are:

From: dave@flaterco.com
Subject: XTide 2.2 beta (tide clock, tide prediction)
Date: Wed, 15 Dec 1999 00:11:07 GMT
=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Version 2.2 of XTide is now in beta. You can get it from
http://www.flaterco.com/xtide/files.html.
XTide is a GPL'd tide clock and tide prediction package that has been
honored with inclusion on some Linux CDs. For details, see
http://www.flaterco.com/xtide/.
While this is beta-ing, I will be getting around to some data
maintenance that may result in some new tide stations being supported.
Changelog for XTide 2.2 BETA 1 (1999-12-12):
(Compliance) Xttpd now backgrounds itself and logs to the syslog
facility.
(Feature) Added /etc/xtide.conf as alternative to setting
HFILE_PATH. The format of this should probably be XML to guard
against future expansion, but for now it is as contributed from
Debian (Peter Galbraith).
(Feature) Ditched Imake for Autoconf, which simplifies installation.
(Feature) Installed a Unicode-esque collating sequence for Latin1.
(Feature) xttpd: applied location lookup patch from John Holden
<johnh@psych.usyd.edu.au>. This enables URLs of the form
http://whatever/locations/name in addition to the more reliable
http://whatever/locations/nnn.html syntax. The name-based URLs are
not promulgated by xttpd itself. The new syntax is documented in a
new hints & tricks page served by xttpd.
(Feature) If you set the environment variable
XTIDE_DEFAULT_LOCATION, it works like the default location feature
of XTide 1.
(Robustness) Improved resolution of reference stations for
subordinate stations to eliminate many SUB_SUBORDINATE errors. Fast
loading is still sensitive to the ordering of HFILE_PATH.
(Code rot) Added an autoconf step to deal with mutually incompatible
requirements of different platforms on the signature of the accept()
function as used in xttpd.cc.
(Code rot) Added Antarctic time zones to the compatibility table in
Timestamp.cc.
(Compliance) Changed packaging from xtide2/* every time to
xtide-X.Y.Z/*. Changed suggested disposition of xttpd from bin to
sbin. Changed xttpd man page section from 1 to 8. Changed suggested
disposition of harmonics files from /etc to /usr/local/share/xtide.
(Compliance) Moved some static functions into externC.cc with
appropriate signature changes to placate the Sun compiler's
anachronism checker.
(Portability) Added workaround for bug in Sun WorkShop Compiler C++
SPARC Version 5.000. Thanks to Raphael Malyankar.
(Nit) Applied patch from Peter Galbraith to set background color in
xttpd to white.
Thank you,
DWF

From: Cornelius Krasel <krasel@wpxx02.toxi.uni-wuerzburg.de>
Subject: leafnode-1.9.7 - news server for small sites
Date: Wed, 15 Dec 1999 00:20:13 GMT
=====BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE=====
I hereby announce leafnode-1.9.7 which is available from
ftp://wpxx02.toxi.uni-wuerzburg.de/pub/leafnode-1.9.7.tar.gz
and
ftp://metalab.unc.edu/incoming/Linux/leafnode-1.9.7.tar.gz
This software will also be mirrored at several other places, among
them
ftp://ftp.karlsruhe.org/pub/news/servers/leafnode/
and
ftp://ftp.unixpower.org/pub/leafnode/
Leafnode is a news server for small sites which is very easy to install
and maintain.
This release fixes two bugs in fetchnews which could cause articles to
get lost if the header format was somewhat, er, unusual. Fetchnews is
now more tolerant and will sort the articles properly into the news
spool.
In addition, it is now possible to build src-RPMs directly from the
Makefile. Thanks to Karsten Merker for helping me with writing this;
without him this feature still would not exist. To get a src-RPM,
simply do a "./configure; make rpm" after you have unpacked the
tarball. (Obviously, if you don't have rpm on your system, this will
not work.)
Leafnode has a home page at
http://wpxx02.toxi.uni-wuerzburg.de/~krasel/leafnode.html
and there is a leafnode mailing list; to subscribe, send mail with
"Subscribe" in the Subject: header to
leafnode-list@wpxx02.toxi.uni-wuerzburg.de
I am thankful to all the people who provided feedback or (even better)
patches; without them, leafnode would not exist in its present form.
And here is the lsm entry:
