Hi,

I have just written a front end to allow you to change the dial up
number used by you Linux box to connect to the Internet.

It is only of use if you of read/write access via samba (or some other
mapped network drive) to the actual pppd CHAT script.

Simply enter your numbers in the config file called linuxpppd.txt and
from then on just click the number you want and press save.

It is only for running on MS windows (9x) boxes), the source is
included, be kind it is my first windows GUI program.

To be found at http://www.wizdom.org.uk full URL:-

http://www.wizdom.org.uk/downloads/LinuxCHAT.zip

Any improvement advice, gratefully received.

Three days after the last release, I'm back :)

This time it's a security update, all users of restore
are concerned (0.3 versions also).

Please upgrade to the last version, which can be found on:
http://perso.cybercable.fr/pop/dump
or
http://spop.free.fr/dump

Changelog:

Changes between versions 0.4b8 and 0.4b9 (released November 5, 1999)
====================================================================

1. Use lchown instead of chown, fixing a possible security problem
when restoring symlinks (a malicious user could use this
to deliberately corrupt the ownership of important system files).
Thanks to Chris Siebenmann <cks@utcc.utoronto.ca> for detecting
        this and providing the patch.

Stelian.
