Hi,
I'm pleased to announce a beta release of Cyrus imapd version 1.6.0.
This version includes some new features (SASL authentication and Sieve
mail filtering) and some bug fixes.
The major change is the addition of Cyrus SASL for all authentication
purposes. This allows Cyrus more flexible authentication; in addition
to plaintext and Kerberos v4 authentication, Cyrus now supports
Cram-MD5, Digest-MD5, and GSSAPI. Cyrus now requires Cyrus SASL,
version 1.5.0 or better.
Additionally, in the more functionality category, Cyrus includes
support for Sieve, via the optional package cmu-sieve (also released
today). Sieve is a server-side delivery-time mail filtering language.

Download Cyrus SASL:

Download CMU Sieve:

The final release of 1.6.0 should be later this summer. We are
primarily interested in bug reports and portability problems at this
time. Please report all bugs to cyrus-bugs@andrew.cmu.edu.
Thanks,
Larry Greenfield
