Check out the gtk-engines module, then add a line like:
include "/home/hp/local/share/themes/Pixmap/gtk/gtkrc"
(changing /home/hp/local to your install prefix) to your gtkrc.
To just look at themes you can change this line in testgtkrc
in the gtk source directory, then run testgtk. Of course you can
replace Pixmap with the other theme names.
