most definitely. there are probably enough people who do not use
Gnome for one reason or another, so a gtk only version should be
provided. additionally, since Gnome requires an updated version
of gtk, specifically an ever-changing developmental version, there
are many who only want to use a "stable" gtk, not one that is
constantly changing.

there's probably no easy way around it. just roll up your sleeves
