There was a bug in GtkRuler that was hidden by some dubious behavior
in the GtkTable widget. The patch I posted to remove this behavior
from GtkTable, (subject approx. "fixes for GtkTable and GtkWindow") also
includes a fix to this bug, which I think is probably what you're
seeing.
