Which gtk+ 1.1 are you trying to install (1.1.3)? Have you installed glib
1.1(.4)? Can you give us the exact text of the error message? What type of
system do you have? If you can use RPMs, I've found that the RPM's on rufus
(rufus.w3.org) are sufficient to look at gnome.
