The usual action is to xmodmap the side button to be #6, since most apps
and indeed most of X can't handle it and the wheel is more useful.  I'd
more than welcome a solution which let me use the side button and the
wheel, or even better, one that lets me map any event I choose to scroll
the various scrolled bits of GTK.
