Hi.

I recently had the privilege of working with a hardware engineer. Beeing
crypto intrested, i speculated about a parallel
FPGA/ASIC implementation of a {Enter-crypto-system-here} code cracker.

It turned out that, in theory, an $80 buck chip (In my country) could
easilly be mass-manufactored, really cheap. I could
have done the crypto part free, and he could have done the programming
for free and we could get a bankloan or perhaps
even some company/government backing and voila - homemade codebreaker.

The memory problem (data & dictionary) could be solved by a neural
network over a fast LAN with memory storage
beeing distributed, which COULD be fast enough depending on the
implementation.

Just my 0.02 bar of gold pressed Latinum.

Regards,
