Thanks for your answer.
The bank is in Luxembourg, where the banking secrecy is VERY important
(as in Switzerland). A banker must secure all nominal informations about
his customers.
The tools must be real crypto, and not scrambling or shortened key. The
(simple) DES is also inadequate (the main customers file could have a
too great value for some fiscal administration, which have colleages in
their national intelligence agency who have the technical level to break
a 56bits key).
So, are the two software products full crypto or american (export) one?
