Summary: Sweden developed its own secure encryption system for =20
communicating with fighter jets. A new jet, which is scheduled to =20
replace all existing fighters by 2011, uses a NATO-standard encryption =20=
system - only. There is no plan in place to upgrade the ground =20
systems to the NATO standard. So the new jets must communicate in the =20=
clear.
