Did you try building CFS from the NetBSD package system? Assuming you
have "pkgsrc" installed you should be able to just do:
cd /usr/pkgsrc/security/cfs
make install
and it should all be installed automagically.
I have tried to use CFS on NetBSD/i386 several times, and it works
mostly OK. But I always seem to run into an annoying bug that makes
CFS more or less useless for me. The problem I see is that I sometimes
get seemingly random I/O errors, due to a directory suddenly stat'ing
as a regular file. Very weird...
This is particularly easy to reproduce for me by running CVS on top of
CFS. Suddenly a CVS sub-directory turns into a regular file, of size
512, and with garbage contents. After "a while" it turns into a
directory again. I have been aiming to try do debug this for a long
time now, but never seem to get around to it...
