Hi All!
Brother Christene Benner and I(from Theta Zeta, University of New Hampshire)
have been invited to represent APO at a forum on community service at the
NH Statehouse. Governor Merrill(of the volunteerism award cruise fame) is
setting up a committee on community service, and the day long affair is
to share what is going on at the local and national level; it is
sponsored in part by the state House and Senate. There will be
representatives from ACTION(the Federal volunteer program,) COOL, President
Clinton's office, the state legislature, and some other "big names...."

I will be sitting on the panel dealing with community service and higher
education along with someone from Darmouth, and one other person. The people
coordinating the event seem enthusiastic about APO's participation. We have
space to put out brochures, flyers, etc.; we plan to bring a scrapbook or too
as well. The format is different than we had been told originally, and since
it is THIS FRIDAY I was wondering if anyone had any tips(I am not anticipating
this being difficult, but it is a great chance for APO to be recognized and I
would like to do the best job possible)

I am sure that people will have the usual confusion about "Fraternity--but
you're a girl!" "Where's your house?" "What's the name of your sorrority?"
and so forth....after my involvement with APO since the 1st semsester of my
Frosh year, however I have my description down pretty well(since I certainly
would not want anyone thinking I was in a sorrority, or forcing people to
drink beer...) but would welcome suggestions, or other questions you may
anticipate people asking.

Thanks in advance!
                                                YILF&S,
                                                Carla Katherine Moran S:)
