Dear Brothers:
Greetings from Xi Rho! Hope your semester is getting off to a great
start. The conference we've all been waiting for is less than 30 days away!!
At this time we'd like to invite you, Sections 88&89, and anyone else who would
like to come, to the Fall 1993 Sectionals Conference at Xi Rho-SUNY Oneonta,
November 5, 6 & 7th.
In case you haven't heard, the theme for the conference is "Safe
Sextionals", focusing on the National program of emphasis for 1993, "AIDS
Awareness". Speaking of themes, don't forget to pack your overalls, bandanas,
and plaid shirts, because the rumour is there will be a good ole' fashioned
Xi "Ho" Down Friday night. So get ready for a knee slappin' time down on the
farm!
You and your Chapter alone can attend this conference for the low, low
price of $40.00 for the entire weekend. For a banquet only ticket the price is
$22.00, (The banquet will begin at 6pm with mocktails, dinner at 7pm sharp!).
Please note that housing is limited and is available on a FIRST COME, FIRST
SERVED BASIS. For your convenience, we have a list of hotels in the area. Our
sponsor hotel and the site of the banquet is the Holiday INN on route 23
southside Oneonta. When calling for reservations be sure to use the assigned
conference code to guarantee the conference rate of $56.00. If you have any
questions regarding directions please feel free to call.
Some things to remember: Albany petitioning Group will be voted on at
the business meeting, so start thinking about voting delegates! There will
also be a greek store, Bargain Town Greeks, on campus all day Saturday stocked
with A-Phi_o Items. We are very happy to announce that we will be able to
offer an MVPW and an LDW!!!!
Check in time on Friday Nov. %th begins at 6pm. Registration and the
mixer will run until 12 midnight. We are asking that every Brother bring as
their "ticket" into the Friday night mixer, a non-perishable food item or a
$1.00 donation. This is part of a Thanksgiving Food drive going on in the
area.
There will be a nametag Contest, and please, keep 'em tasteful guys!!!
The man mile award is going to be close, we have several running bets as to who
is going to win!! Now, while our nametag contest should involve the conference
theme, the banner competition is going to be a little different this semester.
We are asking that each chapter design and create a quilt panel. Its
measurements should be 15-in. by 15-in. with a 1-in. sewing border. The theme
of the panel should be simply, "Your Chapter". All the quilt panels will be
sewn together to make a section 88 & 89 quilt. As part of a National project
our quilt will be sent to Nationals to represent our sections. The idea is
that Nationals will have quilts from all over the country.
Get Psyched!! The rumour is that this conference will be one of the
biggest yet! Please have your payment and registration form back to Michele
Nunes by Saturday October, 9th. A late fee of $3.00 will be added after this
date. Please don't hesitate to call with any Questions. We can't wait to see
you!!!
Please remember to make all Chacks payable to Alpha Phi Omega.
The banks don't understand Greek letters so please write in English!
And the Registration will take place in the Hunt Union at the top of
Oneonta Campus.
We'de love to have as many brothers from other chapters as Possible!
