Hmmmm...well, I've had two different pins during my time as a brother, but
only becuase I gave my original one back to my big to use to pin my new sibling.
I ordered a new one when I ordered the service pins for the new brothers, and
so far, I haven't heard any complaints. I've even sent my pledge pin through
the wash more than once, and the same for my service pin. (My badge has had
better luck, thankfully.) I think that it might have been a bad batch, that's
all.
As for a different weight and such, there may be a small difference. The only
thing I see different is that my new pin had a brighter blue coloring. But then
again, that could be from it's newness.
Just my $.02.
YiLFS,
Tracey
