Thre requrement is just a guideline to let everyone know what the
MINIMUM is. It sets a goal for people to achieve instilling a sense
of motivation in some people. Without that motiviation, some people
wouldn't show up to any events weather the event is interesting or
not. At our chapter, a good portion of the brotherhood did 50+ hours
of service last semester. Some people even reached the 100+ hour
mark.
Our minimums for active brothers are: 30 service hours or 50% of the
total approved service projecs, unless other arrangements have been
made with the VPS.
Hope that helps.
