Yep, it's me again, cluttering up your mailboxes, but this might even
be worth the bandwidth.
First of all, many sections and regions now have mailing lists that
will enable more in-depth information about local events without
increasing load on APO-L. Perhaps we could try to make use of them
this semester.
Section 82 has a listserv list. To subscribe send the command
sub sec82-l <Your name>-<Your chapter> to listserv@vtvm1.cc.vt.edu.
So for me I would send
sub sec82-l Rick Nyman-Zeta Beta. There are other lists out there,
perhaps the listowners could mention them for new APO-L subscribers so
that they don't miss anything.
FTP SITE!!
Yes, I managed to get a *REAL* site to host the APhiO ftp collection.
I'm still working on it, but here are basic directions on accessing
it:
ftp vtucs.cc.vt.edu (login as anonymous with eagle as your password)
cd filebox
cd nyman
You are now in my home directory and a dir will show you the
directories. There are several that start with apo (such as apoart)
and you can feel free to browse them. The other directories are for
general utilities, etc. If you want to upload anything to the site,
you must change to the incoming directory. (to back up a directory,
the command is cd ..) If you have any questions or have uploaded
anything (please tell me if you do), send me mail at the below
addresses.
