Last spring I posted about something called Make A Difference Day that I saw in
our "news magazine" included in our Sunday paper. These are the deatils as I
have them:
1.the prize for being one of the top 10 volunteer projects that take place on
that day (or one very close to it if religious beliefs prohibit you from
participating _on_ the day) is $1000 to your favorite cause and a
representative will be flown to Wash D.C. for an awards ceremony. In addition,
you and your event will be publicized after the fact in the "magazine" (it goes
by different names in different papers).
2.application forms will be available in this "magazine" the weekend of Oct.
15-17, which is a week before the Oct. 23 MAD Day
