For users on machines that don't have IRC clients, you can get onto IRC
thru Auggie BBS but you must be a registered user of the BBS to have
access to IRC. Here's how to get registered.
telnet bbs.augsburg.edu
login: bbs
[BBS Welcome Screen]
Userid: guest
Password: guest
[okay, you're in the BBS system. Now to get registered]
Get to the command mode [hit return]
You will see a highlighted box on the top of the screen, type "M" for mail.
You're now in the Mail Menu. Type, "S" for send
To: accounts
Title: registration
[begin typing]
You need this information in the letter to be registered:
Desired User Id:
Initial Password:
Terminal Type (ie. vt100):
Real Name (First and Last):
Postal Address:
Email Address:
Crtl-X and S for send.
Then wait for confirmation.
