Brothers,
I recently got back from staffing the APO Booth at the National Scout
Jamboree and wanted to let everyone know that it was a big success. We had
over 300 pledges, actives, alumni, advisors, petitioners, and sweethearts stop
by representing approximately 175 chapters! Perry Piper was by far the brother
that pledged earliest, pledging in 1931 and had the distinct honor of being
given his Service Pin by the Chief! The reception we had on Saturday was
attended by close to 100 brothers including past Nat'l President Loren Jurvis,
Nat'l Scouting Relations Chairman Gerry Kennedy, and BSA's liason to APO James
Chandler. The six of us working the booth had a great time and really
appreciated all the brothers that stopped by to say hello and help out. Alot
of Scouts and Scouters were educated about APO and the fraternity should
benefit greatly.
