All-

The following is a slight revision/updating of the "12 Guideposts to Success in APO" that I have seen in older APO materials from the 50s & 60. I think its still relevant today.

---------

Twelve Guideposts to Success in Alpha Phi Omega

1. Give constant attention to service projects for the benefit of the campus, community, and nation.

2. Be sure all chapter meetings are snappy and interesting, and conduct occasional fellowship events for the enjoyment of members, pledges, and guests.

3. Maintain an adequate rush program to insure a steady flow of new members into the chapter.

4. Use the committee system to get things done, and give all members and pledges a definite part in the chapter activities.

5. Maintain a full advisory committee consisting of two or more faculty/staff advisors, one or more Scouting/Youth Service Advisors, and one or more community advisors.

6. Publish a regular newsletter for members and alumni.

7. Conduct all chapter business in accordance with the chapter bylaws and national bylaws, and use correct parliamentary procedure.

8. Choose carefully the new officers at each election, endeavoring to elect the most capable members for those responsibilities.

9. Keep thorough and accurate chapter records.

10. Utilize the services of your section chair (and regional director).

11. Make sure that your chapter is represented at national conventions, regional conferences, and section conferences.

12. Keep in close contact with the national office and make use of the printed materials and other aids which are furnished by the national organization.
