Shana:

There are numerous APO Alumni Associations out there. How does one determine if they are successful is based on the purpose of the group.

In South Florida, where I am the VP of the group we determine our success by several metrics.

1. Growth of the Organization
2. Ability to accomplish defines activities (both Service and Fellowship)
3. Ability to support (when needed) the local chapters in all areas (Advisors (if needed), Service Projects, Fellowship Events, and Recruitment).

These are some of the ways we judge our success. Additionally we do a large amount of promotion of the organization to the different scouting movements in the South Florida Area (BSA, GSUSA).

So in the end we determine our success by our defined purpose.

Hope this helps.

I was wondering if anyone has any tips for starting a successful alumni association. We are starting one up in the greater Chicago area, and I would appreciate advice from anyone who has experience in this matter. InLFS, Shana AUTOTEXTLIST \s "E-mail Signature"
