Sorry it took so long, but I've had a chance to read through the responses
and the National by-laws and the APO site...
1) Dictionary wise - Alumnus is "one who", Alumna is "a woman who" so both
are correct in usage.
2) National web site - Neither Alumnus nor Alumna is enforced, especially
in the bios for the board members.
3) National by-laws. No use of either the word "alumnus" or "alumna". Its
Alumni and Alumni Members/Membership.
4) "Alum" - defiantely shorter, and common, but not suitable for legal &
forml documents.
So not sure where to go on this. I guess personal choice...
